Patio and Deck Options

Brick Pavers
Brick pavers are becoming increasingly popular in the backyard due to the advances in the color, shape, and textures of the pavers. Pavers are being made to resemble natural stone and can be used for patios or as retaining walls or even firepits, fireplaces, and outdoor kitchens.
One of the great things about using pavers around a pool is the fact that they have a natural non-skid finish. Considering that most of the time the surface around the pool will be wet, brick pavers can offer a sure footing for both children and adults.
Natural Stone
Natural stone will create an elegant and luxury feel around any pool scape. For our stone patios we either set them in a compacted bed of gravel and sand or we will mortar them down to a slab of concrete. The method used is usually dependent on the look and feel of the environment that the custom wants.
Natural stone can also be used to finish raised spas, fir pits, grill islands, fire places, and outdoor kitchens.
Concrete: Regular and Stamped
Concrete is this most economical surface that can be used around the pool surface. Regular concrete will have a broom finish which will provide a non-skid surface but may not be as aesthetically pleasing as the other options.
Stamped concrete is one way to provide a decorative patio around pool. There are many types of patterns and colors that can be used to create a dynamic look for the backyard. One thing to keep in mind is that sealers are used on stamped concrete to bring out the rich colors of the concrete and may make the surface a bit slippery.
